IDA GIBBS

Funeral services were held for Ida Gibbs at the Country Church near Soldier at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 1987.

The eulogy was given by a great granddaughter, Diane Conrad.

The music was provided by a great grandson, Kevin Gibbs, as vocalist, and organist, Gilma Gibbs, a niece. Selections were “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Brother James Air”.

Casket bearers were all grandsons, Dan, David, Larry, Jim, Jerry and Kenny Gibbs. Honorary bearers were the sons, Don, Arlo, Kenneth, Ralph, Silas and Lloyd.

Transcriber’s note—Ida was the daughter of Olaf and Lily Berg, both from Norway, per 1900 Federal Census; she was born 18 Sep 1891 per SSDI; she married Alva Devain Gibbs (born 20 Mar 1879 per WWI Registration) on 4 Jan 1912 in Soldier, (Monona), Iowa per online family tree. Various Federal Census reports show a total of 11 children.
