Everett A. Hord Sr., 92, of Sioux City died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Hallmark Care Center in Sioux City after a long illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Everett was born March 6, 1915, in Whiting, Iowa, the son of August and Gunhilda (Carlson) Hord. He was raised at Whiting and attended country and high school there. He was a lifelong farmer and farmed at Whiting, Galva, Turin and Sioux City.

Everett married Helen Longlee on Dec. 14, 1956, at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa.

He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of Sioux City; a son, Everett Jr. "Gus" of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Lois Hord of Whiting; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Norma Myers, Goldie Sorenson and Clara Van Hazel; a brother, Carl Hord; and a niece, Mary Ann Trabert.
