Constance E. (Koithan) Rossow, 84, passed away into the Lord’s grace on Sunday, Feb. 9, at home in Mapleton surrounded by her family.

Constance was born Aug. 20, 1929, to George and Elsie (Ziems) Koithan in Mapleton. She was baptized in September 1929 and confirmed on May 17, 1942, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Constance grew up and graduated high school in Mapleton. After graduation she taught in a one room school house outside of Mapleton for a year.

Constance married the love of her life, Robert E. Rossow, on Dec. 30, 1952. They farmed outside of Mapleton for a few years before moving into Mapleton. She was employed at the Coast-to-Coast for a number of years.

Constance enjoyed quilting, and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Constance was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sheryl Palmer of Mapleton, Denice Creveling (Ron) of Ellston, and Diana Rice (Scott) of Bellvue, Neb.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, George Koithan, Jr. and wife, Irene of Carroll; sister, Carolene (Koithan) Parker of Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Mary (Brenner) Koithan of Minnesota, Betty (Koithan) Vaughn of Sioux City, and Susan Rossow of Merrill; brothers-in-law, Freddie Streck of Loveland, Colo., and Wayne Rossow and wife Norma of Fayetteville, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Robert Rossow, Constance was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elsie (Ziems) Koithan; brothers, Gerhardt and Herman Koithan; sister, Arlene Koithan; brothers-in-law, Norman, Edgar, and Verdean Rossow, and Carl Miller; sisters-in-law, Esther Miller, Amanda, Arleen, and Shirley Rossow, and Eldora Streck; three grandchildren, Ray Creveling, Donald and Robert Palmer; nephew, Kirk Koithan; nieces, Cindy (Wilcke) Rossow and Wendy Rossow; and one great-granddaughter, Greyson.

Funeral Service was Thursday, Feb. 13, at 10:30 a.m. St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Mapleton with Rev. Pastor Scott Jensen officiating.

Message in Music was by Karen Krusen, Organist, and included congregational singing of “Just As I Am,” “I’m But a Stranger Here,” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”Pallbearers were Ron Creveling, Tim Creveling, Eric Koithan, Ben Koithan, Dan Koithan, Anthony Rice.

Visitation was at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 5:30-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton.

Everyone attending was invited and encouraged

to go to the church basement following the interment for a time of sharing food prepared by the ladies of St. Matthew.

Funeral was conducted by Armstrong Funeral Homes, Mapleton.
