BURNETTA KRUMVEIDE

Bernetta Krumveide, Onawa, Iowa, died on Wednesday, May 27, 1987, in Good Shepherd Home in Blair, Nebraska. She had reached the age of 70 years, 10 months and 10 days.

She was born July 17, 1916, in Franklin Township, Monona County, Iowa, the daughter of Brick and Hattie (Jividen) Cooper. She graduated from Onawa High School in 1934 and taught rural school west of Onawa. On July 16, 1937, she married Frederick “Fritz” Krumveide at Elk Point, South Dakota. Mr. Krumveide died August 27, 1971, in Onawa. She had been employed with Co-op Café and Helen’s Café in Onawa and had been a dietician at Burgess Memorial Hospital. She was a volunteer at Elmwood Nursing Home and Burgess Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Elise Rebekah Lodge 222, Hanscom Woman’s Relief Corps, David McNeill Post 129 of the American Legion Auxiliary and Burgess Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Neill and her husband, Jerrold of Modale, Ia.; a son, Richard and his wife, Rhonda, of Omaha, Nebr.; a sister, Lucille Treece of Onawa; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Paul Cooper.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 1987, in the First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt and Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Robert Oehler was the organist. David Batter, the soloist, sang the selections “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagles Wings”.

Bearers were Everett Peasley, Ben Grandgenett, Don Smith, Harold Gray, Don Loomis and Joe Feldhacker.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa.
