VELMA G. BRYCESON

Velma G. Bryceson, 86, formerly of Moorhead, Iowa, died on April 25, 1987, at Skyline Villa in Omaha, Nebraska, following a brief illness.

She was born January 17, 1901, at Moorhead, the daughter of the Dan Chapmans. She married Floyd Bryceson, June 30, 1926, in Moorhead. She was employed at Moen’s Clothing Store in Onawa and the couple owned and operated a dry goods store in Moorhead until Mr. Bryceson’s death August 10, 1962, in Moorhead. Velma had been a resident of Omaha since 1976.

She was a member of the Moorhead Christian Church, Royal Neighbors of America and Moorhead Chapter 538 Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 1987, at the Moorhead Christian Church with Rev. John McGee officiating. Mrs. Charles Kratz, the organist, accompanied Steven Johnson in the selections “Face to Face” and “Beyond the Sunset”.

Bearers were Juhl Hansen, Darrell Wessell, John Moorhead, Clifford Swenson, Jim Pickle, Ival Hinkel.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
