CHRIS B. PETERSON

Chris B. Peterson, 92, Onawa, Iowa, died March 29, 1987, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa after a long illness.

He was born November 25, 1894, in Brondeslov, Denmark, and came to the United States at age 11. He was adopted by Stina Sorensen. On March 16, 1921, he married Cecil A. Clark in Logan, Iowa. The couple made their home at Pisgah and Blencoe before moving to Onawa in 1966. She died August 17, 1986, in Onawa. Mr. Peterson was a truck driver and farm laborer.

He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Onawa.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Myrlen) Wakehouse of Barstow, Calif.; and Mrs. Keith (Janet) Payne of Onawa; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecil.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 1987, at the Onawa Cemetery with Elder Dale Wolf officiating.

Bearers were Wayne Gries, Harry Struble, Ralph Lindley and Burdette Madsen.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
