ARTHUR B. H. KUHLMANN

Arthur B. H. Kuhlmann, 81, of Mapleton died Sunday, March 29, 1987 in a nursing home in Woodbine.

Mr. Kuhlmann was born July 4, 1905 near Mapleton to Jacob and Bertha (Kuhlmann) Kuhlmann. He was raised in the Dunlap area and farmed in the Castana and Moorhead areas. He moved to a farm east of Mapleton in 1948 and farmed until the fall of 1970, when he retired and moved to Mapleton.

Mr. Kuhlmann was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Rohde of Castana and Mrs. Velma Campbell of Council Bluffs, and four brothers, Wilbert of Castana; LaVerne of Onawa; and Erwin and Arnold both of Lake Charles, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 1987 in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Mapleton. The Rev. Les Kimball officiated. Mrs. Norma Jean Dose, the organist accompanied the congregational singing “How Great Thou Art”, “Just As I Am” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”. A prayer service was held Tuesday, March 31st at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Pallbearers were Leonard Kuhlmann, Ralph Pedersen, Ronald Kuhlmann, Robert Kuhlmann, Donald Kuhlmann and Douglas Kuhlmann.

Interment was in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa. Arrangements were by the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton, Iowa.
