Donald R. Fritz, age 66 , of Moore, Montana, died Wednesday, June 29. 1994, in Billings Deaconess Medical Center from a heart condition. Memorial services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 1994, in th e Cloyd Chapel in Lewistown. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Lewistown City Cemetery.

Donald was born August 11, 1927, in Soldier. Iowa, the son of Clarence and Idella Fritz. He received his education in Iowa and then entered the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. On June 12. 1949, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jensen in Onawa, Iowa. He worked on the bridge crew in Missouri Valley. Iowa, until attending telegraphy school in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completion they moved to Montana. They settled in the Shelby-Ledger area and he worked for the Great Northern Railroad. They lived in various places in northern Montana, settling in Malta. They moved to Moore in 1984 and he retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1989. They had lived in Moore since that time. He enjoyed collecting antique John Deere tractors, was a member of the Northeast Montana Thrashers Association, Central Montana Flywheelers, Brotherhood of Railway Workers and the Burlington Northern Retirees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Moore; three sons, Bruce of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Byron of Topeka, Kansas, and Paul of Saco, Montana; two sisters, Doris Hayes of Mapleton, and Dorothy Jane Wellner of Killeen, Texas; three grandchildren, Marilyn, Dina and Kyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the Heart Association or the Intensive Care Unit of the Billings Deaconess
