Mrs. Clarence Fritz

Mrs. Clarence (Idella) Fritz, 88, of Ute, died Tuesday, April 27, 1982 in a nursing home at Mapleton. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church in Ute. The Rev. Dennis Bailey officiated. Burial was in the St. Clair Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Fritz, the former Idella O'Connor was born June 20, 1893 to Perry and Dora Ella Zediker O'Connor at Mapleton. She was raised in the Mapleton community and later moved to Castana. She married John Davis November 22, 1911, at Castana. He died October I9, 1913. She moved to Bloomfield, Nebraska where she married Clarence Fritz on September 19, 1915. They made their home in Ute and Soldier communities. He died January 16, 1950. She was a cook at the Home Cafe and Dairyland Cafe at Mapleton and the Sweet Shop, Leisinger's Cafe and John Reiling's Cafe at Ute.

Mrs. Fritz was a member of the United Methodist Church at Ute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, two daughters, one grandson, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Doris) Hayes of Mapleton and Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Wellner of Killeen, Texas; one son, Donald of Glasgow, Montana; one brother, Alvin O'Connor of Battle Creek; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Byron Fritz, Ronald Fritz, Richard Fritz, Melvin Ortner, Horst Zittlau and Donald Klein.
