ONAWA, Iowa -- Larry Baczwaski, 80, of Onawa died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Steven Hetzel officiating. Burial will be in Whiting City Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Larry was born Jan. 4, 1925, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of John and Emma Baczwaski. He was raised in Minnesota and joined the U.S. Navy in November 1942, during World War II. He was an electrician's mate and served on the USS Frament until his discharge in 1945.

He married Gloria Danielson in St. Paul. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1963, where he owned and operated Lawrence's Pontiac. In 1967, they moved to Onawa and he owned Onawa Ford and Mercury until his retirement in 1984. Gloria passed away in June 1999.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and always enjoyed many different activities.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beth and Randy Kalianoff of Des Moines; three sons and their wives, Lee and Carolyn of Pasco, Wash., Bob and Patti of Sioux City and Tom and Rita of Whiting, Iowa; grandchildren, Shelley Maass, Mike, John, Ben, Carey, Adam and Brian Baczwaski and Nick and Eric Kalianoff; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Jack Maass; and a sister, Mary Ann Stanley of St. Paul, Minn.

In addition to his wife, Gloria, he was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers
