STEVEN D. BRINK

Steven D. Brink, 27, of rural Castana, Iowa, died February 19, 1987, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident northeast of Onawa.

He was born September 21, 1959, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to William Dwight and Barbara (Lamb) Brink. He came with his family to the Castana area in 1966 and graduated from West Monona High School in 1978. While in school he was active in Maple Valley Mohawks 4-H Club. He farmed in the Castana area.

He was baptized and trained in the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: his father and stepmother, William and Beverly Brink of Castana; his mother, Mrs. Dale (Barbara) Schleisman of Emmettsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Sheryl) Mock of Spencer and Mrs. Mark (Sandy) Walker of Moorhead; one stepbrother, Brian Maiso of Castana; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lois Brink Hess of Anthon; two nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 1987, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mapleton, Iowa, with Mass Celebrant Father Walter Bruch. The Mass For The Deceased was played by the organist, Mrs. Leo Kane, and the St. Mary’s Church Choir sang.

Casket bearers were Scott Maule, Keith Carlson, Gary Martindale, Joe Martindale, Larry Lamb and Norman Lamb.

A Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.

Interment was in the Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
