ELEANOR U. CARPENTER

Eleanor U. Carpenter, 76, Onawa, Iowa, died February 9, 1987, in the Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa following a long illness.

She was born August 3, 1910, at Battle Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Daisy (McNeil) Sammons. She married William Carpenter on July 11, 1941, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Mr. Carpenter died October 7, 1968, in Iowa City. She had been a waitress at Sadie’s Café in Onawa.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Fern Hickman of Little Sioux, Ia.; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Millie Erickson and Lois Sammons, and three brothers, Leslie, Marvin and Rolland.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 1987, at Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Stoll officiating.

Interment was in the Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
