WILLIAM L. LARIMORE

William L. Larimore, 85, of Onawa, passed away February 1, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

The son of Will and Etta, he was born March 21, 1901, at Leslie, Georgia. He worked on cattle ranches in the Midwest and was a fireman with the Santa Fe Railroad before moving to the Turin area in 1929 where he began farming. On August 26, 1932, he married Loraine Krumviede at Pender, Nebraska. The couple lived at Turin until moving to the Onawa area in 1961. He retired from farming in 1972.

He was a Methodist and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2270 at Onawa. He was a former mayor and councilman of Turin.

Survivors include: his wife, Loraine; four daughters, Mrs. Clifford (JoAnn) Davis of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Hogancamp of Onawa; Mrs. Michael (Joyce) Botsford of Westlake Village, Calif.; and Mrs. Paul (Joleen) Duff of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; two brothers, Jarratt of San Diego, Calif.; and Frank of Escondido, Calif.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel at Onawa with Rev. Hugh S. Bird officiating. Mrs. Robert Oehler, the organist, played “The Red River Valley”.

Bearers were Robert Hogancamp, William Hogancamp, Harold Johnson, Wayne Burgess, David Delashmutt and Jeff Botsford.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in his name with the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
