IRMA E. PERKINS

Irma E. Perkins, 86, Onawa, Iowa, died February 2, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

She was born June 21, 1900, at Logan, Iowa, to Joseph H. and Minnie (Owens) Carr. She taught school at Little Sioux and Pierson until 1929 when she retired. On March 24, 1929, she married Clyde L. Perkins at Logan. The couple lived at Pierson until 1936 when they moved to Onawa. He died June 28, 1980, at Onawa.

She was a member of First Christian Church and David McNeill American Legion Post #129 Auxiliary, both in Onawa.

Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Carr of Missouri Valley, Ia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde; and two sisters, Harriet Carr and Avis Carr.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 1987, at the First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. The organist, Mrs. Vincent Phillips, played “Abide With Me” and “Beyond The Sunset”.

Bearers were Vern Rounds, Joe Jackson, Eldon Terry, Bill Perkins, Edward Perkins and Virgil Sorenson.

Interment was in the Frazier Cemetery at Logan, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
