8 January 2014Patricia L. "Pat" O'Neal, 69, of Whiting, Iowa died Monday, December 23, 2013 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, IA. with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Whiting City Cemetery, Whiting, IA. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, IA.
Patricia Lorraine was born December 29, 1943 in Sioux City, IA the daughter of James and Lorraine (Garret) Hilsinger. She grew up in Sioux City, IA and attended Franklin, Woodrow Wilson and Central Schools.
Pat and Andrew (Bud) D. O'Neal were united in marriage on February 2, 1961 in South Sioux City, NE. Six children were born to this union, Dennis, Kim, Kristy, Karyn, Kysa, and Jeffrey. The couple raised their family and farmed near Whiting, IA their entire life. Pat enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and she cherished the love of her life, Bud. She enjoyed painting, drawing, crafts, gardening, and traveling. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Bud O'Neal of Whiting, IA; son, Dennis (Amy) O'Neal of Whiting, IA; four daughters, Kim O'Neal-Boisen of Whiting, IA, Kristy (Paul) Blake of Aurora, CO, Karyn (Jeff) Berres of Denver, CO, and Kysa O'Neal-Krohnke of Schleswig, IA; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Treglia of Sioux City, IA, and Pauline (Cyril) Groetkin of Yankton, SD; and a brother, James "Jim" Hilsinger of Sioux City, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lorraine Hilsinger; son, Jeffrey L. O'Neal; sister, Barbara Locker; and brothers, Billy Hilsinger and Bobbie Hilsinger.
