ONAWA, Iowa | Twila J. Rose, 76, of Onawa died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Joel Gueningsman officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Twila June was born on July 29, 1937, in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Mabel (Neddermeyer) Clark. She grew up in the Soldier area and graduated from Soldier High School in 1955. After graduation, Twila worked as a secretary for Mutual of Omaha in Omaha.

Twila and Ray Rose were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1957, in Bloomfield, Neb. Five children were born to this union, Renee, Kirk, Greg, Paula, and Julee. The family lived in Norfolk, Neb., for one year and Wayne, Neb., for nine years until moving to Onawa in 1968. Twila loved caring for her family as a homemaker and also helped her husband, Ray, with bookwork at the Coast to Coast Store in Onawa.

Twila was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, and the AALW.

Survivors include her husband, Ray of Onawa; five children, Renee Linda Rose of Rapid City, S.D., Kirk (Sandy) Rose of Onawa, Greg (Renee Ann) Rose of Sioux City, Paula (Les) Ellis of Larrabee, Iowa, and Julee (Danny) Pruett of Onawa; grandchildren, Danny Jr. (Emily) Pruett, Ashton Pruett, Raeann Rose, Mark, Derek, Jack, and Allyson Rose; great-granddaughter, Peyton Rose; half sisters, Marlene (Bernie) Allen of Springfield, Neb., and Jeanette (Don) Schmidt of Omaha; stepsister, Donna (Roland) Schnick of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Clark and Mabel Meadows; stepfather, Launie Meadows; half sister, Elaine (Herman) Buchanan; and stepbrother, Floyd Rawlings.
