Roy E. "Pick" Zediker son of Lew and Charolette Zediker was born March 15, 1897 near Mapleton, Iowa and died January 28, 1968 at a Sioux City hospital having reached the age of 70 years, 10 months and 13 days.

He farmed near Mapleton until 1947 when he moved to town and was employed by Monona County until his retirement in 1959. He married Helen Ernst November 5, 1927 at Mapleton. He was a veteran of WW1 and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Daniels of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Floyd Bouslaugh of Omaha and Mrs. Frances Kenley of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 31, 1968 at the Walter Chapel with burial in the Heisler Cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by the Loren Hollister Post 496 of the American Legion. Pallbearers were members of the American Legion.
