Lou Zediker Is Taken By Death

Funeral Services Are Held Thursday in Methodist
Church for Pioneer

Funeral services for Lewis L. Zediker, 81-year-old long time resident of Mapleton, who passed away Tuesday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Bouslaugh at Castana, of the infirmities of old age, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Church. Rev. A. F. Schuldt, pastor of the church, officiated.

Interment was in Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral home.

Nephews of Mr. Zediker served as pallbearers.

Mr. Zediker, son of George and Sarah Zediker, was born May 29, 1857, at Springbrook, Jackson County, Iowa. He came to this community in 1884, locating on a farm east of Mapleton and had made his home here continuously 51 years. He was married to Miss Charlotte Heisler in 1888.

He is survived by six children, O. E. Zediker and W. L. Zediker of Mapleton, R. E. Zediker of Danbury, Mrs. Mary Carson and Miss Frances Zediker of Sioux City and Mrs. Bouslaugh of Castana.

He also is survived by six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Courtney of Mapleton, and one brother, T. J. Zediker of Grand Valley, Colo. Two children, Edith and Harry, preceded him in death.
