James B. Zediker age 63 of Mapleton died Wednesday October 21, 1998 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton with Pastor Shirley Textor officiating. Burial was in Heisler Cemetery, Mapleton. Donna Zediker was the accompanist for the service and music was “Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Armstrong Chapel.

James Byron Zediker was born May 20, 1935 at Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Racy and Lillian (Muckey) Zediker. He farmed with his father and his brother, Maurice. He also worked for Monona County.

Survivors include two brothers, brothers Maurice and John Zediker, both of Mapleton, Iowa and three sisters, Caryl Smith of Onawa, Iowa, Shirley Koenigs of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Harriett Nielsen of Mapleton, Iowa.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delberta Hart and an infant brother and twin sisters.

Pallbearers were Keith Zediker, Gary Zediker, Owen Zediker, Jeremy Zediker, John Smith and Pete Steward.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
