Helen Zediker, age 88, of Mapleton died Tuesday May 16, 1995 in Mapleton. Services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18 at the Walter-Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton with Pastor Patricia Preusz officiating. Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery, Mapleton. A prayer service was held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Walter-Armstrong Chapel.

Helen Barbara Zediker was born December 7, 1905, at Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Thomas) Ernst. She married Roy Zediker November 5, 1927 in Mapleton. Helen worked in multiple Mapleton businesses. Roy died January 28, 1968.

Helen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include a niece Margaret Wacheldorf and family of Mapleton and nephew, Marvin Means and family, also of Mapleton; several great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Helen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and an adopted sister.

Honorary pallbearers were Brian Wacheldorf, Ryan Wacheldorf, Daniel Parr and Stephanie Parr.

Pallbearers were Jenny Dobrovolny, Eugene Means, Troy Dobrovolny, Jodi Wacheldorf, Rick Wacheldorf and Larry Hieber.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
