George Ambrose Zediker, the son of Ambrose and Ida Mae Zediker, was born June 22, 1892, near Mapleton. He died March 14, 1968, in Sioux City, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 22 days.

Mr. Zediker lived his entire life in the Mapleton and Castana communities. Ha was married to Edna Muckey on December 24, 1913 at Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed in the Mapleton and Castana communities until they retired from farming in 1959 and moved into the town of Mapleton.

He was a member of the Methodist church in Mapleton: was a past member of the I. O. O. F. of Mapleton: past township trustee of Center township: and a past board member of the Monona County Triple A.

Survivors include his wife. Edna, of Mapleton: two daughters, Mr. Russell (Yvonne) McDonald of Castana and Mrs. William (Maxine) Baker of Harrison. Nebraska; three sons, Arnold from Sioux City, Clark of Mapleton and George D. of Burlington, Washington: 20 grandchildren: 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Racy of Mapleton: one sister, Mrs. Clarissa Smith of Odebolt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 1968 at St. John's Methodist church in Mapleton. Rev. Leonard Rowse officiated.

Interment was in the Heisler cemetery at Mapleton under direction at the Walter Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Avery Zediker, Billy D. Baker, Lee R. McDonald, Arnold O. Zediker, James C. McDonald and Michael G. McDonald.
