FUNERAL OF AMBROSE ZEDIKER HELD TODAY

DEATH CLAIMS OLD RESIDENT OF MAPLETON—HAD BEEN MAKING
HOME WITH SON, GRANT

Ambrose Zediker a resident of this community for more than 40 years, died of heart trouble, at the home of his son, Grant, Monday evening, at the age of 66 years, following a period of failing health. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at 2 o’clock this afternoon, with Rev. G.W. Dunn officiating.

Mr. Zediker was born September 19, 1861, at Spring Brook, Jackson County, Iowa. He came to Mapleton in 1883 and married Miss Ida May Heisler on December 25; 1884. They lived on a farm near Mapleton for many years.

To this union was born eight children, seven of whom are now living. Mrs. Zediker died January 9, 1901, and Mr. Zediker moved to town in 1915, where he lived until his death.

Mr. Zediker was well known in Mapleton and his large circle of friends will grieve to hear of his passing.

Besides his brothers and sisters, L. L. Zediker, of Mapleton, T. J. Zediker, of Grand Valley, Colo.; Mrs. S. E. Courtney, and Mrs. T. J. O'Connor, of Ida Grove, and Mrs. Ferry O'Connor, of Castana, he leaves seven children, who are: Mrs. Bert Marsh, of Brewster, Minn.: Mrs. Clarence Hale, of Strathcona, Alberta, Can.; Racy George, Grant and Lawrence Zediker, of Mapleton and Mrs. Charles E. Smith, of Odebolt.
