Clark M. "Zed" Zediker, age 61, of Mapleton, Iowa, died on Saturday, May 30, 1987 in a Sioux City hospital after a sudden illness.

Services were at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. Iowa. The Reverend Richard Hempenius officiated. Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa, with graveside military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4704 of Schaller, Iowa. Visitation was after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 1987 with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mr. Zediker was born on August 9, 1925, to George Ambrose and Edna (Muckey) Zediker in Castana, Iowa. He moved with his family to Mapleton, Iowa prior to entering the United States Navy during World War II. In 1948 he moved to Schaller, Iowa. On September 17, 1949 he married Dorothy Pyle in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived at Schaller, Iowa, where he worked for the American Popcorn Company until 1955 when they moved to Mapleton, Iowa. He was employed as a carpenter for the Jacobson Brothers and most recently B&F Jacobson Construction Company. They moved to Danbury, Iowa in 1973 and returned to Mapleton, Iowa, in 1982.

Mr. Zediker was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4704 of Schaller, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clark. Jr., of Salina, Kansas, and Jeff of Mapleton, Iowa: three daughters, Mrs. Linda Hanson of Victoria, Texas, Mrs. Wayne (Christie) Adkins of Hornick, Iowa, and Tracy Zediker of Denison, Iowa; two brothers, Arnold of Sioux City, Iowa, and George Jr. of Burlington, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Yvonne) McDonald of Mapleton, Iowa, and Mrs. William (Maxine) Baker of Harrison, Nebraska; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert Jacobson, Bob Lane, Duane Ruchti, Wilbur McNear, Dale Laumbach, and Severt Dahl.
