Hugh M. Porter Dies Wednesday

Funeral Services Will Be Held Friday Afternoon
At Family Residence

Funeral services for Hugh Milton Porter, 68-year old pioneer resident of Mapleton, who passed away at his home Wednesday of pneumonia, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home with Rev William Krummel pastor of the Evangelical Church in charge.

Interment will be at the Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral Home.

Mr. Porter, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Porter was born October 28, 1865 in Harrison County. He was married to Miss Laura Jane Muckey October 25, --- in Mapleton, which always has been the family home. His wife preceded him in death a few years ago.

Mr. Porter for many years operated a dray in Mapleton. He was ill at his home only a few days being at work as usual last week.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. Sylvia Round of Mapleton, Mrs. Ruby Herndon of Scott Bluff, Neb., and Mrs. Iva ---- of White Water, Kan. He also is survived by one brother Malon of Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Tom McCay of Castana and Mrs. William Miller of Little Sioux.
