Mary Alice Pauley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ash, was born Oct. 30, 1869 in Wisconsin, and died Thursday, July 5, 1962 at the Turin nursing home at the age of 92 years, eight months and five days.

Mrs. Pauley came with her parents to a farm near Castana as a young girl. She had resided the Mapleton community for over 75 years, and had lived in Emerson, Nebr., for two years and in Oklahoma two years.

She was married to L. D. Pauley in 1888 at Mapleton. Three daughters and two sons were born to this union. Mr. Pauley preceded her death in September 1943.

Survivors include; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel (Frank) Stout of Sioux City, one son Albert of Temple, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 10 great –great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, one son, four brothers and three sisters.

Services were held Saturday, July 7, 1962 at the Walter Chapel with Rev. Byron W. Ayers officiating.

Pallbearers were: Elmer Ivey, Lewis Leisinger, Charlie Ramm, Fred Rounds, Ernest Shay and Louis Godberson. Burial was in Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Walter funeral home.
