Mrs. O'Connor Taken by Death Funeral Services Held Here
Wednesday for Longtime Resident of County

Funeral services for Mr. Perry O'Connor, 77-year-old resident of this community who passed away at her home south of Mapleton Sunday following a lingering illness, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. A. F. Schuldt, pastor of the church in charge.

Interment was in Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral home of Mapleton.

Clarence O'Connor and Earl Ulvin of Soldier, Leo Bradin of Ute, Alvin Fritz, Veryl Lee, and Earl Rose, all of Mapleton, served as pallbearers.

Dora Ella Zediker, daughter of George and Sarah Zediker, was born June 14, 1859, at Spring Brook, Ia. She came to Mapleton with her parents in 1884. She was married to Perry O'Connor of Mapleton February 17, 1887- just 50 years ago the day of her funeral. They farmed in the vicinity of Mapleton a number of years and later moved to the Soldier vicinity where they have spent the last 30 years. They have been associated with W H Chrisman during the last 31 years and lived on his farms.

Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Alvin of Soldier, Mrs. Idella Fritz of Mapleton, and Mrs. Edna Railsback of Griswald, la., two brothers, L. J Zediker of Grand Valley, Colo., and L. L. Zediker of Mapleton, one sister, Mrs. Emma Courtney of Ida Grove, I8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Among those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bouslaugh of Decatur, Neb., Mrs. Emma Courtney, Tom O'Connor, Mrs. Walter Smith and Mrs. Mabel Mercer of Ida Grove, Mrs. Edna Railsback of Griswald, la., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Petersen and daughter, Wilma, of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bradin of Ute, Mrs. Olif Ulvin and son, Vein, of Soldier, Mrs. William Davis of Castana. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baker of Soldier, Mr. and Mrs. George Zediker and Mrs. Lawrence Roe of Castana, Mrs. And Mrs. Howard Greenough and son and Mrs. Henry Lord and son, Harry Lord of Soldier.
