SMITHLAND, Iowa -- Randall K. "Randy" Moore, 58, of Smithland died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Evangelical Church (German City), rural Hornick, Iowa, with the Rev. Paul Mahaffie officiating. Burial will follow in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Root Funeral Home (formerly Willman Chapel) in Rodney, Iowa.

Randall K. "Randy" Moore, son of Kenneth and Genevieve (Bouey) Moore, was born April 4, 1953, in Mapleton, Iowa. Randy was raised and educated in Smithland. Following school, he started working at Iowa Beef and lived in Sloan, Iowa. In the early 80s, Randy moved to Florida, and he made his home in Lake Mary and later in Longwood. Randy worked at Water Bonett and then at U.S. Seating and Admiral Casual Furniture as a welder. During this time, he took classes and received his G.E.D.

While living in Florida, Randy met Wilma, and they returned to Smithland in 2005. On Nov. 10, 2006, they were united in marriage. They lived in Smithland and Randy worked as a welder at GOMACO until March of 2011, when his health forced him to quit.

Randy enjoyed being outdoors, riding his motorcycle, cleaning his vehicles and doing yard work. Most of all, Randy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Randy is survived by his wife, Wilma Moore of Smithland; his children, Joshua Moore and wife, Sheri of Orange City, Iowa, and Kelly Weise and husband Sam of Jefferson, S.D.; one stepson, Edward D. Howard of Dumas, Texas; one stepdaughter, Dawn Ewing of Sacramento, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Genevieve Moore of Mapleton, Iowa; four siblings, Shirley Adams and husband Roger of Cairo, Neb., Sharon Moore of Mapleton, Mike Moore and wife Debra of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sandra Banta of Gravette, Ark.; two uncles, Roland Bouey of Mapleton, and Robert "Dude" Bouey of Onawa, Iowa; two aunts, Barbie Bumstead of Mapleton, and Yvonne Farber of South Sioux City; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Moore in 1991; one stepson, Timothy Howard; mother-in-law, Nellie Grubbs; three aunts, Marjorie Farber, Helen Bumstead and Maureta Yockey; and two great nephews, Cody and Tanner Ray.
