Theodore Muckey Buried Thursday

Funeral Services Are Held In Methodist Church – Buried in Heisler

Funeral services for Theodore Muckey, 33-year-old lifelong resident of Mapleton, who passed away Monday afternoon in the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City following a month’s illness of pneumonia and complications were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist Church with Rev. A.F. Schuldt, pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment was in Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Olerich Funeral home.

His employer, Marion Rasmussen, and fellow workers, Christie McClatchey, Guy Kunkel, George Grass, Earl Hasbrouck and Art Jensen, served as pallbearers.

Mr. Muckey, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Muckey, was born October 28, 1905, in Mapleton. He attended the Mapleton schools and grew to manhood in this community. He was married June 27, 1929, to Miss Clara Kurth of Mapleton.

They resided on a farm west of Mapleton and worked for Charles Lamb eight years before moving to Mapleton. He has been employed during the last year and one half by Mr. Rasmussen as a well driller.

Mr. Muckey was a fine young man and a friend of all who knew him. He was taken ill a month ago and two weeks later his condition became so serious that he was taken to the hospital in Sioux City.

Mrs. Muckey's mother, Mrs. Lena Kurth, passed away a month ago. He is survived by his wife and four children, Marilyn 7, William Henry 5, Mary Lou 3, and Joann 5 months. He also is survived by his mother, Mrs. Muckey of Mapleton, two brothers, Nelson Muckey and Orlando Muckey of Mapleton, and one sister, Mrs. Roy Johns of Winnebago, Neb.
