Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, 1974 at 10:00 a .m. at the Berkemeier Funeral Home in Sioux City, Iowa for Darold F. Lee, age 61, a former Mapleton resident. The Rev. Ronald Groschen of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated and burial was i n the Heisler Cemetery at Mapleton. Mr. Lee died Sunday, November 10 at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Pallbearers were Harold and Elmer Chattier, Clarence Ingalls, George and Jared Comstock, Carl Ribando, Cliff Clark and Lloyd Meyers.
Mr. Lee was born December 5, 1912 at Sioux City, Iowa. He married Margaret Tester Watson May 7, 1938 at Elk Point, South Dakota and they lived in Sioux City until moving to Mapleton in 1945. In 1957 they moved to Manning, Iowa and in 1971 returned to Sioux City when he retired. He had been employed as superintendent of municipal electricity plants at Mapleton and Manning.
Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Alas (Wanda) Grage of Kirkland, Washington, one son, Gerald Watson of Bakersfield, California; one brother, Robert Lee of Sioux City, one step-sister, Mrs. Elmer Chattier of Sioux City; two step-brothers, Joseph Stout of SanAngelo, Texas, and Franklin Stout of Bremerton, Washington, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
