Walter Handley Iddings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Iddings, was born May 20, 1883, at Danbury, la. He resided in the Danbury vicinity until 1905, a t which time he moved to Pierce, S. D., where be homesteaded until 1911. He then moved back to Danbury where he farmed and made his home until a few weeks before his death.

About six weeks ago he became seriously ill and was taken to the Cummins Nursing home at Sioux City, where he remained until his death, Friday, May 14, 1954, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 14 days.

He married Mabel Palmer. This union was blessed with two daughters and two sons. Ono son, Clarence, preceded him in death, also his wife, who died in 1951.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Bessie) Rosauer of Danbury and Mrs. Dale (Frances) Philips of Coachella, Calif.; one son, Glenn, of Sioux City; his mother, Mrs., Marietta Iddings of Danbury, four brothers,. Kenneth, Harold, George and Charles, all of Danbury; two sisters, Mrs. Word Swanger of Lawton, Iowa, and Mrs. LeRoy Whittier of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, 1954, at 1 p.m. at the Danbury Methodist church. Rev. John Burt officiated.

Burial was in the Heisler cemetery at Mapleton, In charge of Byers- Walter funeral service.

Pallbearers were all members of the I.O.O.F. lodge No. 339 of Mapleton.
