Funeral services for Mrs. George Grass, who died Sunday at her home here, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1954, at the Byers-Walter funeral chapel. Rev Eugene Hancock, pastor at the Methodist church officiated.

Burial was in the Heisler cemetery

Pallbearers were Joe Hayes, E. C. Dean, Andy Madsen, Clarence Slentz, Paul Kinney and Ed Champion,

Cleopatra Merrifield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Merrifield, was born June 29, 1904 at Rodney, la. She was married to George Grass April 29, 1936, at Denison, la. She had lived in the Rodney and Mapleton communities all her life.

She was a member of the Methodist church and the Ladies Auxiliary Encampment of Mapleton.

Surviving are the widower; her mother, Mrs. Effie Merrifield of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Edward Doyle of Littleton, Colo. Her father and one brother preceded her in death.
