Funeral services were conducted in Anderson’s Funeral home in Sioux City Monday a t 11:30 o'clock for Mrs. Mary Wade Doty, 87-year old former Mapleton resident who passed away Saturday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. W.I. Hatchery in Sioux City. Rev. G.D. Serrill officiated.
Interment was in Heisler Cemetery here with the Byers Funeral home of Mapleton assisting.
Mrs. Doty was born at Sidney, Ia., September 1, 1850. She was married January 11, 1872, a t Sidney and later moved to Missouri where she lived 10 years. Then she moved to a farm near Mapleton.
Mr. Doty died in 1892 and in 1900 Mrs. Doty moved to Colorado. She moved to Sioux City in 1919 and later to Rapid City. S. D., where she made her home until 1937 when she returned to Sioux City to make her home with Mrs. Hatcher.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Jensen of LeMars, Mrs. Luella White of Rapid City, Mrs. Grace Kramer of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Hatcher of Sioux City three sons , C.A. Doty of Rosemead, Cal., Fred Doty of Joseph. Ore., and John Doty of Los Molenos, Cal.
