PNEUMONIA FATAL TO ARTHUR CLINBENPEEL

FOUND DEAD IN OMAHA HOTEL THURSDAY — SUICIDE SUSPECTED
AT FIRST—LAST RITES HERE SUNDAY.

Funeral services were held in Mapleton Sunday afternoon for Arthur Clingenpeel, of Battle Creek, whose lifeless body was found in an Omaha hotel Thursday afternoon. Mr. Clingenpeel was a veteran of the world war and Loren Hollister post of the American Legion accorded him military honors at the burial services.

When Mr. Clingenpeel’s body was found it was thought that he might have ended his life, although no marks of violence were in evidence. The state's attorney, of Omaha, ordered an autopsy. This disclosed that death resulted from lobar pneumonia.

Mr. Clingenpeel had operated a pool hall at Battle Creek for the last 10 years. Prior to that he had lived in Mapleton where his parents also resided. He had left Battle Creek a few days before his death.

R. E. Byers was called to Omaha Friday to take charge of the body. He brought the remains to Mapleton and services were held at the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Edward Pruitt in charge. Burial was in Heisler cemetery.

Mr. Clingenpeel is survived by two brothers, Lester, of Onawa, and Allen, who now lives in Oregon.

The deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
