Services Will Be Held At 2 o'clock With Rev. Wm Krummel in Charge
Funeral services for Peter Clausen, 78-ycar-old father of Mrs. Ray Champion and C. Clausen of
Mapleton, who passed away Tuesday in a hospital at Pierre, S.D. following a lingering illness, will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Evangelical church with Rev. William Krummel, pastor of the church, in charge.Interment will be In Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral Home. Grandchildren of the deceased will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Clausen was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, May 6, 1856. He was married to Anna Marth in Germany and in 1882 they came to the United States, locating in Crawford County near Denison. They made their home in the vicinity of Mapleton for many years, later residing at Bloomfield, Neb., for six years. During the last 25 years Mr. Clausen made his home at Eagle Butte. S. D. His wife preceded him in death in 1917.
Nine children survive. They are C. Clausen of Mapleton, Chris Clausen of Charter Oak, August Clausen of Bloomfield, Neb., Mrs. Anna Lange of Lebanon, Mo., Mrs. Mary Weise of Hancock, Minn., Mrs. Kate Champion of Mapleton, Herman Clausen of Rosebud, S. D„ William Clausen of Eagle Butte, S.D. and Mrs. Clara Lille of Battle Creek. He also is survived by 36 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
