6 November 1980Mrs. Albert (Alwine) Christiansen, 86, of Mapleton, died Sunday, November 2, 1980, at the nursing home in Battle Creek.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the United Church of Christ at Mapleton, Iowa, with the Rev. Homer Perry officiating. Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery at Mapleton under the direction of the Waiter Funeral Home at Mapleton.
Mrs. Christiansen, the former Alwine Schneekloth, was born August 18, 1894, to Wilhelm and Anna (Denker) Schneekloth, near Mapleton and was a lifelong resident. She had lived at the Willow Dale Nursing Home in Battle Creek for the past three years, prior to that she had lived at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton for 7 years.
She was married November 3, 1915 in Soldier Township. They farmed until 1945, when they retired and moved into Mapleton. Mr. Christiansen died July 23, 1970.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Mapleton and the Women's Fellowship Society of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Alvera) Gosch, of Battle Creek and Mrs. Floyd (Alberta) Marsh of Mapleton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, two brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Gregg Marsh, Glenn Marsh, James Engle, Gail Gosch, Frank Schrunk and Herman Schneekloth.
