Jennings Blakely Killed Saturday In California

Funeral services for Jennings L. Blakely, 37, a former resident of this community who was killed Saturday in a car accident at San Jose, Calif., were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, at the Pearson funeral home at Onawa. Rev. Paul Johnson officiated and burial was in the Grant township cemetery near Grant Center, Iowa. Masonic services were conducted at graveside.

Mr. Blakely was born March 8, 1926, at Mapleton, Iowa. He was an employee of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of a Masonic lodge.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Florence Blakely of San Jose, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Collier of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Haloubek of Denver, Colo.
