28 July 1983Darlene Violet (Marsh) Schiltz, 57, of Remsen, died Monday, July 18, 1983, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services were held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church in Maple ton. Pastor Dick Krambeck officiated. Burial was in Grant Cemetery in Rodney, Iowa, under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.
Darlene was born on July 21, 1925, to Ted and Anna (Johnson) Marsh at Clinton, Minnesota. She moved with her parents to the Mapleton area in 1932. On June 10, 1958, she married Vernon Schiltz at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple farmed near Remsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Marilyn of Remsen; four brothers. Earl of Mapleton, Norman of Madison, Missouri, Everett of Sioux City and Dale of Wall Lake, Iowa; three sisters, Miss Rosella Marsh of Mapleton, Mrs. Lawrence (Eleanor) Martin of Mena, Arkansas, and Mrs. Roger (Lorraine) Weinbrandt of Kiron, Iowa.
Pallbearers were Gene Bradstreet, Murl Tonsfeldt, Murl Hansen, Arnie Vorthems, Ronnie Amundson and Bob Mai.
