Mrs. Brenda Carol Persinger, rural Hornick, Iowa, age 31, died on January 24, 1983 at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital following a brief illness.

She was born on April 12, 1951 at Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth A. Maxwell and Florence Wimmer Maxwell. She married Rex C. Persinger on November 16, 1968 at Grison Air Force Base, Peru, Indiana. The couple farmed near Hornick for 13 years.

Brenda was a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Laura Lee and one son, Scott L. Persinger, both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Maxwell of Peru, Indiana; five brothers, Kenneth of Lexington, Kentucky, James, Bruce and Joe, all of Peru and David of Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines; four sisters, Mrs. Edith Binkerd of Peru, Mrs. Evelyn Borg and Linda Maxwell, all of Peru and Mrs. Shirley Beatty of Dayton, Ohio.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 1983 at the United Methodist Church at Hornick with Rev. Dale Church officiating. The organist was Mrs. Lael Steinhoff and the soloist was Neil Koppen.

Bearers were Robert LaBrune, Dennis LaBrune, Larry LaBrune, Kenneth Merritt, Royce Gramm and Aleck J. Yarosevich.

Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney.
