February 15, 2012Edith Esther Gregerson, 91, of Whiting died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, following a brief illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Whiting Christian Church, with the Rev. Tom Scott officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery near Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Mrs. Gregerson was born May 12, 1920, in Ticonic, Iowa, daughter of Leslie and Nellie (Busby) Whitehorn. She married Albert (Bus) Gregerson on Sept. 22, 1937.
Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Arlene and Tom Distefano of Arizona, and Connie and Dennis Kirchmann of Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Patti, Terri, Kelli, Rhonda, Renee, Rebecca, Roxanne, Regina, Julie Ann, and Daniel; 12 great-grandchildren, Jason, Emily, Willard, David, Steven, Brittney, Tori, Colton, Dillon, Danielle, Alex, and Anthony; one great-great-granddaughter, Ella; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Janet; two sons, Richard and James; four sisters, Ruth Hedum, Pearl Peterson, Lucile Rainwater, and Martha Marian Jacobson; and three brothers, Howard, Ervin, and Willis.
Memorials may be directed to Whiting Christian Church for the Bible College Scholarship Fund.
