Easton Bearce, 75, of Whiting died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, with Chris Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Whiting City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Easton was born March 31, 1936, the son of Robert and Harriet (Durr) Bearce. He grew up in Whiting, where he was raised and cared for by Elliot and Harriet Whiting. Easton graduated from Whiting High School. Easton achieved Eagle Scout and was also proud to attend Boys State.

Easton married Dorothy Collett on January 12, 1954, in Onawa. Easton worked at various television stations in Omaha and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after college. The majority of his working years were at Iowa Public Television in Sioux City as an electronics engineer.

He was a member of the Attica Lodge 502 AF & AM in Sloan, Iowa, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, where he participated in the Wrecking Crew. He was a Congregational Church member.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Whiting; a daughter, Nancy Fleming of Whiting; a granddaughter, Krista (Mike Huff) Fleming of Blencoe, Iowa; a grandson, Bryan (Julianna) Fleming of Gulf Port, Miss.; two great-grandsons, Auston and Nathan Huff, both of Blencoe; and a half brother, Terry (Linda) Bearce of Onawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Harriet (Durr) Kirk and Elliot and Harriet Whiting; and a daughter, Kathleen Petersen.
