Anna Schoenherr, age 88, of Danbury died Thursday, February 9, 1995 in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial was in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. A rosary was held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. by St. Mary's Rosary Society and a vigil wake service was held at 7:00 p.m. at the Walter - Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Anna Agnes Schoenherr was born February 9, 1907, on a farm near Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Schuh) Gollhofer. She attended country school in the area. On h e r birthday, February 9, 1925 she married John Anthony Schoenherr at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Iowa. The couple farmed north of Mapleton until retiring in 1966. From the farm, they moved to Sioux City where Anna worked at Sunrise Manor and Matney Manor for a total of 14 years. They moved to an apartment in Danbury in 1980. John died April 11, 1982. Anna entered Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton in December of 1992. She died on her 88th birthday.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Rosary Society in Danbury.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Mildred and Marvin Vogelzang of Harlan, Iowa, Marcella and Norbert Seitz and Joan and Ronald Roberts, all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Darlene and Harry Grochowski of Cartersville, Georgia: three sons and their wives, John and Shirley Schoenherr of Ida Grove, Harold and Carol Schoenherr of Sioux City, and Jerry and Susan Schoenherr of Mapleton: 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband Anna was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Barb, and two brothers, Frank and John.

Honorary 7 pallbearers were Jerry Vogelzang , Tom Vogelzang, Mike Vogelzang, Kirtus Schoenherr and Kyle Schoenherr.

Pallbearers were Dan Schoenherr, Jeff Schoenherr, Richard Vogelzang, Jim Seitz, Scott Seitz and Jim Mascarello. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Walter -Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury-Mapleton.
