Margie Winifred Heisler, 92, Castana, Iowa, died Thursday, January 25, 1990, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Whiting, Iowa, after a long illness.

She was born March 9, 1989 (should be 1897) near Mapleton, the daughter of John T. and Margaret (Shull) Heisler. As a small child, she moved to a farm near Ticonic. She attended Wayne State Teacher's College in Wayne, Nebraska, and Morningside College in Sioux City. She taught school in Monona County for over 50 years. Upon retirement, she lived on the family farm near Ticonic.

She was a member of the Ticonic United Methodist Church, GFWC Castana Thursday Club, Queen Esther Chapter *222/Order of Eastern Star (Smithland) and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors Include: four brothers, Evans and Vernon, both of Sioux City, Morris of Onawa and Marchmont of Smithland as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Warren and John; and a sister. Mary
Thompson.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 29, 1990 in the United Methodist Church at Ticonic, Iowa, with Rev. Steve Root and Rev. Louis Aitkin officiating. Mrs. Marilyn Longlee, the organist, accompanied the congregation in singing "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "How Great
Thou Art".

Bearers were Ronald Maynard, Paul Cox, Steve Johnson, Louis Reed, Keith Shull and Rex Persinger.

Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa, with arrangements by the Willman Funeral Home. Rodney, Iowa.
