Harold Gillispie Gramm, Smithland, Iowa, died at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, on April 6, 1982. Death came at the age of 92 years 1 month and 22 days. He was a resident of the area for 67 years.

He was born at Cabrey, Illinois on February 15, 1890, the son of Martin Gramm and Emma Sharpe Gramm. During World War I he served in the U.S. Army. He was married to Edith Bauman on December 20, 1917 at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm in Monona County. Mrs. Gramm died on July 8, 1980.

He was a member of Amicable Lodge 289 A.F. and A.M. at Smithland and Loren Hollister Post 496 American Legion at Mapleton.

Survivors are one son, Royce H. Gramm of Sioux City, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Nina) Johnson of Hornick, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 1982, at the United Church of Christ at Rodney, Iowa, with Rev. Dale Church officiating. The organist was Mrs. Ellen Harbeck and the Soloist, Darrell Larson, sang, "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross'" with Mrs. Katherine Cox, accompanist.

Casketbearers were David Mann, Lloyd Johnston. Ralph Davis, Robert Seitzinger, Oscar Hanson and Frank Burkhart.

Interment was in the Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa, with flag presentation by Loren Hollister Post No. 496 Mapleton, Iowa.
