Lee Ira Ford, age 86, of Mapleton, Iowa, died on Saturday, February 13, 1988, in the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, after a long illness.

He was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, on September 20, 1901, the son of Fred and Lavina (Munkres) Ford. He married Wanda Hewitt on July 3, 1931 in Carroll, Iowa. The couple made their home in Rodney, Iowa, until moving to Mapleton, Iowa, in September of 1986. He was a bus driver for the Rodney School District, sold Watkins products, and worked at the Willman Funeral Home for many years.

He was baptized in the Re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Mapleton, Iowa; his son, Jack and his wife, Grace of Mapleton, Iowa; a brother. Glen of Sioux City, Iowa: a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Dolla) Bohall of
Lamoni, Iowa; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ray, Dell, and Dale (Dick).
Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. February 16, 1988 at the Rodney United Church of
Christ, with Reverend Gary DeGeest officiating, Mrs. Ellen Harbeck was the organist.

Pallbearers were Steve Ford, Howard Gripp, Owen Zediker, Louis Reed, Les Rodenburg, and
Leonard Daniels. Interment was in the Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa, with arrangements by the Willman Funeral Home in Rodney. Iowa.
