Evalena K. Blankenhorn, the daughter of George and Augusta Blankenhorn, was born Aug. 30 1888 near Mapleton, and died on March 8, 1962 at Glenwood, following a long illness. She was 73 years, six months, and eight days old

She resided on a farm near Mapleton until 1931 at which time she went to Glenwood where she made her home for the remainder of her life.

Survivors include. one sister, Mabel Blankenhorn, Sioux City; one brother, Fred Blankenhorn, Smithland. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

Services were held Saturday, March 10, 1962 at the Walter Chapel with Rev Duane Tritte officiating. Pallbearers were Roy Reichard, Norman Parker, Ray McCleerey, Frands Kafton, Harold Gramm and Kenneth Johnson. Burial was in Grant cemetery under the direction of the
Walter funeral home.
