Nina Blanche Barber was born Dec.7, 1866 a t Elk Point, S.D., and died Monday morning, Feb. 19, 1962 at her home. She was the last of the nine children born to Calvin J. and Louisa M. Barber.

When she was six weeks old the Barber family moved by covered wagon to the old Barber homestead near Rodney.

On Jan. 5, 1886 she was united in marriage to Henry Bauman. They moved immediately to the old Bauman homestead where s he spent the remainder of her life

A daughter, Grace M., preceded her in death on Nov 25, 1892. Her husband died Sept 23, 1937

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lena Blankenhorn of Mapleton, Mrs. Edith Gramm and Mrs. Irma Parker of Smithland, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 22, 1962 at the Ticonic Methodist church with Rev Duane Tritle officiating and burial was in the family lot at Grant cemetery

Pallbearers were Evans Woodward, Les Maynard, Loren Blakely, Ed Myers, Leonard Petersen and Hubert Nickolisen.
