ONAWA, Iowa -- Alan Lee Lynn, 56, of Onawa passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with Carolyn Fiscus as orator. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Alan Lee Lynn was born Oct. 15, 1954, in Sioux City, the son of David and Ruth (Fiscus) Lynn. He graduated from Whiting High School in 1973 and joined the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he was an over the road truck driver for several years.

He loved his family and had a special fondness for the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children.

Survivors include a special friend, Georgia Martin of Onawa; a daughter and her husband, Wanda and Philip Moore of Onawa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lloyd of Sioux City, Scott of Whiting, Dawn (Gary) Skinner of Sergeant Bluff, and Michele Haitz of South Sioux City; a half brother, Marvin (Jonnie) Lynn of Madison, Ind.; a half sister, Margaret "Peggy" (Wilbur) Harris of Spring City, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Denise Lynn of Branson, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dustin Moore; an infant brother, Conrad; and a brother, Clinton.
