WHITING, Iowa -- Georgia Gibler, 94, of Whiting passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Whiting, with the Rev. Reva B. Karstens officiating. Burial will be in Hite Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Georgia was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Whiting, the daughter of William and Fannie (Fegenbush) Deen. She was raised and educated in the Whiting area.

Georgia and Ralph Stauffer were united in marriage on Aug. 11, 1933, and were blessed with three children. Ralph passed away on Feb. 6, 1942. On Oct. 18, 1944, Georgia and Edward Gibler were united in marriage and were blessed with five children. Edward passed away on Feb. 19, 1982. Georgia was a dietician at both Pleasant View Care Center and Elmwood Nursing Homes. She also was employed at several area businesses.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, U.C.C. of Whiting. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and gardening. The passion of her life was her children and family.

Survivors include her children, Vae Jean Ream of Sioux City, Larry (Judy) Stauffer of Hinton, Iowa, Dale Gibler of Sioux City, Donna (Milton) Anderson of Whiting, Jack (Cheri) Gibler of Turin, Iowa, Kathy (Steve) Dicks of Hornick, Iowa, and Mike (Allison) Gibler of Onawa; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ralph Stauffer and Edward Gibler; a special friend of 28 years, Russell Stauffer; a son, Gary Stauffer; three grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-great-granddaughter; a son-in-law, Gerald Ream; three brothers, DeWayne, Darrell and Dallas Deen; and two sisters, Clarabell Deen and Eva Carlson.
