SIOUX CITY | Margery A. Scott, 82, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Greg Hanneman officiating. Burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Margery was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Wilburn Hansen. She married Erwin Scott on Oct. 15, 1947, in Onawa, Iowa. He died April 30, 1971.

Margery did cake decorating and was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing Bunco with her friends. Most of all, Margery enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four children, Anne Marie Lyman-Petty and her husband, Willy Petty of Las Vegas, Nev., Jo Ellen Holthaus and her husband, Donald of Topeka, Kan., Seth Scott and his wife, Elizabeth of Sioux City, and Lori Figueroa of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Susan Scott of Iowa Park, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bobby Hansen of Onawa, and Roger Hansen of Little Sioux, Iowa. Margery will be loved and missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen Scott; a daughter, Catherine Anderson; and two brothers, Joe Hansen and Billy Hansen.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Dennis Lyman, Joshua Scott, Seth Scott, Aaron Scott, Andrew Scott, Thomas Anderson and Eric Holthaus.
