RICHARD UHL’S FATHER DIES IN SIOUX CITY
George John Uhl, 69, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, February 10, 1980, at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 1980, in the St. Mary Catholic Church in Danbury. The Rev. Robert Thiele officiated, with burial in the St. Mary Cemetery.
Mr. Uhl was born February 1, 1911, near Mapleton to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Uhl. He lived in rural Mapleton until his marriage to Elizabeth Livermore February 1, 1940. They farmed in the Oto community for nine years before moving to a farm near Danbury, where they lived for five years. For the last 25 years, they had lived on a farm near Battle Creek.
He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Danbury and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include the widow; four sons, Marshall of Danbury, Robert and William both of Battle Creek, and Richard of Schleswig; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Gilbert of Mapleton, Louis of Alhambra, California, and Paul of Temple City, California; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Parker of Santa Rosa, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one sister and one brother.
